Finnish driver Jari-Matti Latvala, the main favorite for the overall title in the FIA European Historic Rally Championship (EHRC), driving a Toyota Celica ST185, set the fastest time on Thursday afternoon\u2019s shakedown at the season-closing Historic Rally Fafe.\n\nOver the 3.03 km Gontim stage, the Toyota driver finished 3.4 seconds ahead of his closest rival, Poland\u2019s Maciej Lubiak (Porsche 911 2.7 RS), the current EHRC leader.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

In this shakedown session ahead of the Historic Rally Fafe, which officially begins on Friday morning, Italian driver Valter Pierangioli (Ford Sierra RS Cosworth 4\u00d74) set the third-fastest time, ahead of France\u2019s Richard Genesca (Subaru Legacy RS).<\/p>

The Portuguese duo Rui Madeira and Nuno Rodrigues da Silva (Mitsubishi Lancer Evo III), the only national team competing in this final round of the EHRC, showed strong pace by setting the fifth-fastest overall time with the same car that earned them the Production World Championship title back in 1995.<\/p>

It\u2019s worth recalling that this Historic Rally Fafe will decide the European title, in a showdown between the previously mentioned contenders: Maciej Lubiak, Jari-Matti Latvala, and Will Graham (BMW M3).<\/p>
