Jari-Matti Latvala\u2014the star who won the 2025 edition on asphalt in a Toyota Celica 4WD\u2014will be absent, but there are plenty of reasons to expect a spectacular Historic Rally Fafe. The entry list features 20 'relics,' including the Subaru Impreza WRC, the Fiat 131 Abarth, the Skoda Favorit 136L, and even the Mercedes-Benz 500SL, among others. The opening round of the FIA European Historic Rally Championship on gravel brings a very interesting field to the northern 'cathedral' of rallying, led by Italian Mauro Sipsz, co-driven by his well-known compatriot Fabrizia Pons, in a Subaru Impreza WRC.<\/p>

Joining the 2025 Italian historic gravel rally champion duo\u2014who competed in a Lancia Delta HF Integrale\u2014is Austria\u2019s Kris Rosenberg. A regular fixture at the Rallye de Portugal during the 90s, he now returns to our country behind the wheel of a Subaru Impreza Turbo GT as one of the top contenders for the win. Another notable figure is Spanish driver and PAST Racing team principal Daniel Alonso Villaron, who will be competing in a Ford Escort RS 2000. Also driving a Ford Escort, but the RS 1800 model, is his compatriot Jesus Ferreiro Perez, the defending Category 3 European Historic Rally champion.<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Andorran Jordi Pons and Spaniard Manel Arroyo Perez are the drivers of the Porsche 911s that will surely not go unnoticed on the gravel stages selected by Demoporto for this Historic Rally Fafe. There is much anticipation surrounding the performance of Greek driver Nikolaos Pavlidis in the Fiat 131 Abarth, another iconic car at the starting line. But the 'relics' will also include the Skodas\u2014the Favorit 132L, 120s Rallye, and Octavia Super S\u2014driven by Czechs Olda Kovarik Jnr, Radek Tous, and Olda Kovarik Snr.<\/p>

There are also two Volvos\u2014a 242 and a 240\u2014belonging to Finn Pasi Hapulahti and German Siegfried Mayr, as well as the Mercedes 500SL of German Thomas Kuebler, who will have Portuguese Marco Macedo in the co-driver\u2019s seat.<\/p>

Scoring for the Portugal Classics Cup, the Historic Rally Fafe is also the second round of the Northern Rally Championship, competing only in Saturday's six stages. Among the entries will be several drivers from the Portuguese Rally Championship, such as Guilherme Meireles (Skoda Fabia Rally2 evo) and Diogo Marujo (Skoda Fabia Rally2 evo).<\/p><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
