The former driver, who serves at this event as the FIA Safety Delegate, enjoyed a brilliant rallying career—particularly in the 1980s, when she became World Championship runner-up in 1982 and won three World Rally Championship events (Portugal, Acropolis, and Brazil). Mouton has since made an invaluable contribution to the sport in the field of safety. Making rallies safer has been one of her lifelong missions, and upon receiving this tribute, she expressed her gratitude to Fafe and to Portugal for the warmth with which she has always been welcomed, highlighting the enthusiasm and passion of the Portuguese people for rallying.
