MAURO SIPSZ/FABRIZIA PONS: FORCED ABSENCE

O Gemini disse The only no-show among the 20 entries was the Italian duo Mauro Sipsz/Fabrizia Pons, who were scheduled to compete in a Subaru Impreza WRC. Sipsz—former founder and boss of Nordauto (now N Technology) and Autodelta, the team that fielded official Alfa Romeos in the European Touring Car Championship and DTM—did not travel to Portugal due to an ophthalmological health issue. As a result, the renowned co-driver Fabrizia Pons has yet to return to our country to relive the Fafe stages. Alongside Michele Mouton, she won the 1982 Rally de Portugal-Vinho do Porto in an Audi Quattro.

The duo Sipsz/Pons was the only one to miss the start among the 20 entries in the EHRC event.

The Historic Rally Fafe will also be a round of the Portuguese Classics Cup and the Northern Rally Championship. The latter competition only runs Saturday's six special stages, and the entries include several drivers from the Portuguese Rally Championship, such as Rúben Rodrigues (Toyota GR Yaris Rally2), Paulo Meireles (Skoda Fabia RS Rally2), Guilherme Meireles (Skoda Fabia evo Rally2), Diogo Martins (Skoda Fabia evo Rally2), and Anton Korzun (Peugeot 208 Rally4), among others.
